Pair an iPhone or iPad

1. Open Terminal Relay on your Mac and select the worker.
2. Choose “Pair iPhone or iPad” to show a short-lived pairing code.
3. Open Terminal Relay on the mobile device and tap “Scan Mac Pairing Code.”
4. Scan the code and wait for the worker’s projects to appear.

If the code expired

Close it on the Mac and generate a new one. Pairing codes are intentionally short-lived and stop working after successful enrollment.

Worker connection help

• Confirm the worker is powered on and reachable from the device.
• If you use Tailscale, confirm it is connected on both the worker and iPhone or iPad.
• Check that the worker address and SSH port have not changed.
• Do not accept a changed SSH fingerprint until you have verified the worker’s new host key independently.

Terminal and session help

Disconnecting Terminal Relay does not stop the remote Codex or Claude process. Reopen the project and select the running terminal to reconnect.

“Stop Terminal” ends the shared remote agent session for every attached client. Use “Disconnect” when you only want to leave the current device.
